Rude American
Rude Americans Stories atomic number 18 often told about rude American touring cars, neighbors, or simply Americans. They have been labeled as rude because of their actions and their portrayal in the media and our society. Most of the complaints involve tourists. agree to businessperson. Com, Tripods, a travel blob, conducted a survey last year involving 700 respondents from 62 countries about bad tourist behavior. It covers everything from travel etiquette and manners (like hogging the armrests and asking to switch seats incessantly in plane rides) to drunken misbehaver and unusual fertilization.A whopping 33% of respondents, three times as many as the next worst, Britain, agree that Americans argon terrible tourists. 44% of the American respondents even agreed that their coun tensemen ar the worst tourists. As the stereotype goes, theyre loud, rude, fat, and take a leak terrible fashion choices. Stereotype aside, why argon Americans seen as rude and disdainful? Aside from t he net research, a survey was also done in class asking the students their convictions on why Americans argon often seen as rude. The top reasons turned out to be 1) the US is involved in a lot of wars, 2) the American tot uping and 3) cultural differences and misunderstanding. The supports, however, were mostly based on information from the Internet and ain observations. First reason on why Americans are often seen as rude is the role of the US in wars around the world. The US has been a world superpower for so many years and is considered as one of the Most Reliable Countries. Being one of the richest and most powerful countries, Americans tilt to think they are superior and can overpower anyone, making them come off as rude and scornful. American impertinence and disrespect also comes from the wars hey were involved in the past to gain power or honorable for the rice beer of warring such as World Wars I and II, Vietnam, Korean, Afghanistan and Iraq wars. Even if they didnt win without the help of other countries, it inactive made Americans act and think that they are above anyone, which carries on up until now.Second reason of American crudeness is the American upbringing. It is the environment that they grew up in it is how they were raised. some Americans are loud and outspoken because they grew up in a similar environment especi completelyy if they grew up in a city since American cities tend to be hectic and Hattie. They are often seen glued and yelling over their phones, which may be just talking normally for them. They are also seen as rude because of their informality when meeting strangers and they think everything is funny. This is because they are comfortable with other people although they dont realize that the same open behavior comes across as disrespect to other people. Americans are seen as rude because many of them feel that they have to insult others because everything has to be their style. Many Americans are known to be chain-sw ears like its a part of them, like its a normal thing. When they do not get what they want, they occasion frustrated. They just lack manners and social graces because they feel the need to become dominant and take control of everything without thinking about how to treat others.Americans also seem to have a bad reputation with not realizing that the whole world did not grow up learning side to serve them, and that speaking slower to someone who doesnt understand or speak English, doesnt make a difference. ternary reason is cultural differences. As mentioned in the previous reason, the open behavior of Americans comes across as disrespect to other people cause they arent used to such culture, whereas Americans often view familiarity as a unassailable thing. Mistakes made by tourists when visiting other countries are often seen as discourteous. They may not be fully aware, but some people actually get offended. For causa, if youre in France and youre invited to dinner at someones house, you should bring a gift but do not bring a bottle of booze because it implies that your hoses wine is not good enough. Since it is habitual for polite Americans to bring a bottle of wine as a gift for ones hosts, it may be a problem especially if they arent familiar with he French rule. Americans are also known for their busy lifestyle, wherein their time costs so much that they dont waste it in apologizing or thanking others. Some people as a child has been taught that saying thank you, youre welcome, or Im sorry/ is a way of set uping good manners, so not doing any of the mentioned may seen by others as rude. The way they show their nationalism and pride makes them seem to look down on other countries since they say that other countries are nothing compared to them, and that the US is the best country in the world. Maybe we are just used to he respectful culture, but some of the ways they show nationalism and pride may be disrespectful to other countries. Some of the things they say may also sound offensive but they actually mean something different. An example would be their use of the phrase, Oh, really? A person could take it as someone challenging his opinion but in reality it simply means, Interesting Can you elaborate? The portrayal of arrogance among Americans finished their actions, the media and the society is caused by the role of the US in wars, the American upbringing and cultural differences. Not all Americans are rude they were just stereotyped as such. That is why everyone should respect and appreciate each others differences and try to learn and understand them and their culture. It is important to learn and understand them to avoid getting too offended, and to know how to fight back to certain situations. It also helps in getting to know and socializing with Americans instead of avoiding them for being intentionally or unintentionally rude because after all, they are humans just like everyone else.

For one second, I hesitated to join the party because I came alone and afraid that I will be isolated from the crowd. Suddenly a friendly young lady, whom I assumed to be one of the party members, greeted me warmly at the door and invited me to come in. I saw groups of young students around my age, busy chatting and amalgamate around in the hall.I walk ed to the girls to greet them and introduce myself. Roman Civil War: Compare 69 Ce and 193 Ce
Civil War compare 69 CE and 193 CE. Consider the issues of imperial Succession, the roles of the senate, military importance, and the ultimate settlement. How were they the same and different. The Year of the Four Emperors was a family in the history of the Roman Empire, AD 69, in which four emperors ruled in a odd succession. These four emperors were Galba, Otho, Vitellius, and Vespasian. The suicide of emperor Nero, in 68, was followed by a brief period of polished war, the first base Roman civil war since Mark Antonys expiration in 30 BC.Between June of 68 and celestial latitude of 69, Rome witnessed the successive rise and fall of Galba, Otho and Vitellius until the final accession of Vespasian, first ruler of the Flavian Dynasty. This period of civil war has become emblematic of the cyclic governmental disturbances in the history of the Roman Empire. The military and political anarchy created by this civil war had serious repercussions, such as the outbreak of the Batavian rebellion. (The Jewish repel was already ongoing. )Vespasian did not meet any direct threat to his imperial power after the death of Vitellius. He became the founder of the stable Flavian dynasty that succeeded the Julio-Claudians and died of natural causes as emperor in 79. The Year of the Five Emperors refers to the form 193 AD, in which there were five claimants for the title of Roman Emperor. The five were Pertinax, Didius Julianus, Pescennius Niger, Clodius Albinus and Septimius Severus. The year 193 opened with the murder of Commodus on New Years Eve, 31 December 192 and the proclamation of the City Prefect Pertinax as Emperor on New Years Day, 1 January 193. Pertinax was assassinated by the Praetorian Guard on 28 March 193.Later that day, Didius Julianus outmaneuvered Titus Flavius Sulpicianus (Pertinaxs father-in-law and also the in the buff City Prefect) for the title of Emperor. Flavius Sulpicianus offered to pay each soldier 20,000 sestertii to buy their loyalty (eight times their annual stipend also the same amount offered by Marcus Aurelius to secure their favours in 161). Didius Julianus however offered 25,000 to each soldier to allure the auction and was proclaimed Emperor by the Roman Senate on 28 March. However, three other big Romans challenged for the throne Pescennius Niger in Syria, Clodius Albinus in Britain, and Septimius Severus in Pannonia.Septimius Severus marched on Rome to oust Didius Julianus and had him decapitated on 1 June 193, then dismissed the Praetorian Guard and executed the soldiers who had killed Pertinax. Consolidating his power, Septimius Severus battled Pescennius Niger at Cyzicus and Nicea in 193 and then decisively discomfited him at Issus in 194. Clodius Albinus initially supported Septimius Severus believing that he would succeed him. When he get that Severus had other intentions, Albinus had himself declared Emperor in 195 but was defeated by Septimius Severus at the Battle of Lugdunum on 19 February 197.

Positive Psychology, discuss its merits and weaknesses in terms of Article
Positive Psychology, discuss its merits and weaknesses in terms of its viability as a real(a)istic model of intervention within psychological practice - term ExampleSelingman & Peterson (2000) advise, By embracing the disease model of psychotherapy, we have lost our birthright as psychologists-a birthright that embraces both healing what is weak and nurturing what is strong. The realization that Psychology has had more emphasis on the negative than on more convinced(p) topics like the character-building happiness implications of a pleasant childhood well-being achievement, etc has paved the mien for the emergence of Positive Psychology.Martin Selingman, its founder and advocate, and his fellow optimistic minions have devoted much research in this area of Psychology that is becoming a science of its own. Positive psychology is the study of the conditions and processes that contribute to the flourishing or optimal functioning of people, groups, and institutions. (Gable & Haidt, 200 5) It focuses on cultivating personality strengths and honing an optimistic approach to bread and butter rather than on cataloging human frailty and disease. (Lawson, 2004). Positive Psychology has three central concerns positive emotions, positive individual traits and positive institutions (www.positivepsychology.org website). It offers a brighter view of reality and encourages and empowers people to take more proactive steps in increase their strengths when life throws them problems.Pioneers and supporters of the science of Positive Psychology have been thought of as being extremely gallant in their views. Their belief in the intrinsic goodness of people and attainment of a happy life in a world of dread and disease has resulted in accusations that they fail to recognize the very real negative sides of life. However, it is to be reiterated that the goals of Positive Psychology is not to erase or supplant work on pathology, distress, and dysfunction but to build up human resili ence, strength and growth to integrate and

Music Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Music - Essay ExampleThis much creativity in the musical history was never witnessed before. The work done under this era had long emotional and morphological significance. This symphonic music is an excellent example of a classical piece introduced in the later half of the 18th century. It also includes elements of romance to be continued in the nineteenth century. First performance based on this symphony orchestra was on 7th April 1805. The instruments used in composing the symphony include flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, horns, trumpets, timpani and strings. The construction of the symphony is as follows 1. fast con brio 2. Marcia funebre Adagio assai in C minor 3. Scherzo Allegro vivace 4. Finale Allegro molto Actu tout ensembley van Beethoven composed this symphony for Napoleon nap and planned to dedicate the symphony to him only. This was because as a person, Beethoven was deeply inspired by the community who led the French Revolution and Napoleon was one significant and respectable person of that era. This reflected some great respect and admiration that Beethoven had for Napoleon in his heart. Considering his financial situation at that time, he could cast also dedicated this symphony to Prince Franz Joseph and received a great monetary reward for it. But he did not turn away from his initial decision and dedicated it to Napoleon only. All these insights about Beethoven were given forward by Maynard Solomon. But in May 1804, when nap declared himself to be the emperor thoterfly of the French, Beethoven got very disheartened and disgusted at this declaration. He went to great extents to display his wildness and hatred for Napoleon. He went to the table where his symphony laid, and then he grabbed it and tore the runner page on which the title of the symphony was written. He tore it into pieces brimming with anger. The title of this symphony was Bonaparte. This incident has been narrated by Ries in a very interesting manner In writing this symphony Beethoven had been thinking of Buonaparte, but Buonaparte while he was First Consul. At that time Beethoven had the highest esteem for him and compared him to the greatest consuls of ancient Rome. non only I, but many of Beethovens closer friends, saw this symphony on his table, beautifully copied in manuscript, with the script Buonaparte inscribed at the very top of the title-page and Ludwig van Beethoven at the very bottom. I was the first to tell him the news that Buonaparte had declared himself Emperor, whereupon he broke into a rage and exclaimed, So he is no more than a common mortal Now, too, he will tread under foot all the rights of man, indulge only his ambition now he will think himself superior to all men, conk a tyrant Beethoven went to the table, seized the top of the title-page, tore it in half and threw it on the floor. The page had to be re-copied and it was only now that the symphony received the title Sinfonia eroica. (Beethoven and Hamburger 29-30) T he real version of the symphony til now has been preserved through a person who copied the original symphony. In 1821, when Bonaparte died, Beethoven said that he had written the symphony for this sad day seventeen years ago. He said it on Bonapartes funeral. The symphony was thus written for signifying the heroism of the great emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte. It is because of this background information that this symphony of Beethoven is said to have a strong emotional value. A major chunk of this symphony was written in the later half of 1803 and was completed in early 1804. It was first time performed in front of the public in Viennas Theater an der Wien on 7 April 1805 by Beethoven himself. For this performance, the works key was inform as Dis, the
